URGENT CALL TO ACTION
Senator says Revenue Enhancers are likely this year, and hopes that his colleagues include a .28% increase in the real estate transfer tax
to support capital construction at the Delaware Technical and Community College (DTCC).
Earlier this morning, the Bond Bill Committee met, hearing a request from the President of DTCC for $20 million in funding. Senator Venables, with subsequent agreement from Representative Lofink, made an impassioned plea for his colleagues to join him in supporting an increase in the real estate transfer tax to fund DTCC capital construction. Senator Venables said this needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
PLEASE JOIN YOUR FELLOW REALTORS® AT LEGISLATIVE HALL ON THURSDAY, MAY 8th TO SHOW YOUR OPPOSITION TO AN INCREASE IN THE REAL ESTATE TRANSFER TAX.
IF REALTORS® ARE NOT VISIBLE AND VOCAL NOW, AN INCREASE IN THE REAL ESTATE TRANFER TAX COULD BE AN EASY MARK FOR A GENERAL ASSEMBLY STRAPPED WITH A SERIOUS FINANCIAL CRISIS.
