2011 Convention Education Schedule & Course Descriptions

Following are the courses and times available at the 2011 DAR Convention.  When choosing your course, please pick one course from the morning, afternoon and/or evening tracks. It is advised that for the morning and afternoon track, you do not pick courses that end and start at the same time. There will be no allowances for late arrivals and no credit will be given to late arrivals.

Blueprint to Success:  Treating the real estate business as a business and developing a business plan and marketing goals that will take you and/or your agents to the next level.  Instructor:  Gene Millman

Brokers Core Course: 6-hour mandatory continuing education course for Delaware broker licensee - remember to sign up for both sessions.  Instructor:  Shirley Kalvinsky.

Don't Let Your Sale Go Down: Today's Buyers are
more demanding and Sellers often find themselves in difficult financial
situations. In this course we'll offer tips to hold your deals together and get
them closed. Instructor:  Bill Ward

Environmental Disclosures:   Informative course of what happens during the various inspections after the sales contract is ratified.  Instructor: David Myers

Legislative Update (General Assembly):
  Review the first half of the 146th General Assembly and information on what may be coming up next session. Learn about legislation that may affect you as a REALTOR®, your clients and the way you do business.  Instructors:  Charlotte Herbert

Legislative Update (Issues): Get an in-depth update on the changes in legislation, forms, DREC and other information that will affect your real estate business  Instructor: Andy Taylor

NAR Ethics:  Learn the A-B-C's of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics and Arbitration.  This class fulfills the NAR quadrennial Ethics training due every four years to maintain REALTOR® membership.  Next cycle ends in 2012.  Instructor:  Bruce Plummer

Salesperson's Core Course: 3-hour mandatory continuing education course for Delaware sales licensees.  Instructors:  Bruce Plummer (Afternoon) & Bill Lucks (Evening).

Social Media: Social Media remains one of the most popular trends in real estate..  Mindie Burgoyne

Tenant Landlord Code from the Other Side of the Fence: Learn the relevant laws and what you should know before renting a property. Will discuss lease violations, terminating a lease, tenant move-out and evictions as well as problems in the marketplace.  Instructor: Michael Morton, PA

Understanding Today's Credit Score:
Credit Scoring has become "the" keystone of the Real Estate financing industry. Learn how this system works and how you can save your clients from home-buying disaster.  Instructor: Chris Rowe
