Delaware Association of REALTORS® Committees

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Governance of this Association shall be vested in a Board of Directors, consisting of the President of each local association during his/her term, Directors for each Association based on the formula in our bylaws, a Director at Large, the Immediate Past President, all elected officers of the association and all elected officers and directors of NAR. The Dean of REALTORS® Institute shall be a non-voting member.
           
EXECUTIVE
There shall be an Executive Committee for the Board of Directors, composed of the President, President-Elect, Vice President, Treasurer, Immediate Past President, the Presidents of each local Board, the Executive Vice President (non-voting).    Five (5) members of the Executive Committee shall constitute a quorum.   

BYLAWS
The Bylaws Committee shall consist of the last five Association Past Presidents still in the real estate business.  Non-voting members of the Bylaws Committee shall be the State Association EVP, the Association Attorney, and the four Local Association EVPs.
 

FINANCE
The Budget and Finance Committee shall be chaired by the Association Treasurer, and membership shall include the President elects of the four Local Associations, the Past DAR Treasurer, as well as any other members the President shall deem necessary to appoint. Non-voting members of the Budget and Finance Committee shall be the State Association EVP.

STRATEGIC PLANNING
The Strategic Planning Committee shall be chaired by the State Association President, and shall consist of the  President-elect's of the four Local Associations and 1 representative from each association as appointed by the President.  Non-voting members of the Strategic Planning Committee shall be the State Association EVP, the Association Attorney, and the four Local Association EVPs.
 

CONVENTION
(The Guidance Documents does not formally address this committee makeup but the President appoints the Convention Chairperson and the committee members).


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/DRI TRUSTEES
This committee shall consist of a Dean of the Delaware REALTORS® Institute (DRI), appointed by the President.  There shall be four trustees, appointed from each Member Board to serve staggered three-year terms.

Voting members of the Education Committee shall be appointed by the President with three members from each of the three Delaware local Associations serving staggered terms, one member from the Tri-State Association, and chairperson appointed by the President each year.

Non-voting members of the Education Committee shall be the State Association EVP, and the four Local Association EVP's.


NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Nominating Committee shall be chaired by the Immediate Past President, and the committee membership shall consist of one member from each of the four Local Associations appointed by the State Association President, one member from each of the four Local Associations appointed by the Local Associations, and one alternate member from each of the four Local Associations appointed by the State Association President.

The appointments made to the Nominating Committee shall consider the appointee's experience at DAR. Immediate Past Presidents of the Local Associations who have experience on DAR Board of Directors shall be given first consideration.
 

DELPAC TRUSTEES
The DelPAC Trustees has its own bylaws. The chairperson shall be appointed by the Association President from its appointed members. The President shall appoint the membership of the Trustees and the selection of the membership of the Trustees shall conform to the DelPAC Trustees Bylaws.


Membership of the DelPAC Trustees shall be four from New Castle County, two from Kent County, three from Sussex County, and two from Tri-State, all serving two - year terms, including the State Association Public Policy Committee Chair. Non-voting members of the DelPAC Trustees shall be the Association GAD & Lobbyist, the State Association EVP, the Association Attorney, the four Local Association EVP's, and the State Association Public Policy chair if that chair is not an appointed Trustee.

 

PUBLIC POLICY
The Committee shall consist of a Chairperson, the President, President Elect, and Past President of the Association, the chairperson of DelPAC Trustees, the Association's NAR Director, the Federal Coordinators, and the four Local Association Presidents, Government Affairs chairpersons, and PAC Fundraising chairpersons. Other committee members shall be chosen by the chairperson and President as deemed necessary. Non-voting members of the Public Policy Committee shall be the Association Lobbyist, the State Association EVP, DAR GAD, the Association Attorney, and the four Local Association EVP,s.


ROTY
The Realtor® Of The Year Committee shall be chaired by the award winner two years removed, and the Local Association award winners from each of the last two years. Tri-State does not participate in the committee or the award.
